Vaportech takes pride in providing high quality analytical and Geoprobe sampling services. Vaportech personnel have many years of hands on experience analyzing and sampling soil, water and soil gas for the environmental industry. The following information describes Vaportech Services capabilities and resources for environmental services.
- Our specialized laboratory, located in the Pittsburgh, PA area, is PADEP Bureau of Laboratories certified and provides water and vapor analysis for permanent gases, light hydrocarbons, and volatile organic compounds using automated, state of the art analytical equipment.
- Vaportech personnel have over 40 years of combined experience providing analytical services, conducting and managing sampling programs, conducting soil gas surveys, operating mobile laboratories, and performing Geoprobe sampling. Included in this experience, is many years of working at the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site in South Carolina.
- Our experienced staff has provided mobile laboratory services, and Geoprobe sampling at Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine bases.
- Vaportech provides source and trace level vapor analysis for soil gas surveys, soil vapor extraction, and vacuum enhanced remediation projects, using proven analytical and sampling methods from over 20 years of experience. Our system assures sample integrity and reliable results.
- Vaportech operates one newly equipped Geoprobe providing the latest technology for the collection of soil, groundwater and soil gas samples as well as the installation of one inch piezometer/monitor wells.
- Vaportech field personnel are 40 hour OSHA trained and participate in a medical surveillance program as required in the 29 CFR 1910.120 - (Paragraph F). We have yet to have any employee downtime due to accidents.

Key Personnel
Mr. David J. Masdea
President / General Manager.- Mr. Masdea has 25 years experience conducting and managing geochemical sampling/analytical programs. Mr. Masdea’s career began with Gulf Research and Development Co. where his experience includes the design and construction of gas chromatography systems, analytical methods research and development, geochemical surveys conducted world wide, and research work at the California Institute of Technology. For the past 20 years Mr. Masdea has been actively involved managing and operating environmental projects including the collection and analysis of thousands of samples from the Department Of Energy’s Savannah River Site in South Carolina and hundreds of projects for the private sector of the environmental industry. Mr. Masdea graduated from Penn Technical Institute, Pittsburgh, PA.
Mr. Joseph F. Montore
Laboratory Manager- Mr. Montore has more than 15 years of environmental laboratory experience. His experience includes performing SW846 EPA standard protocols using gas chromatography for the analysis of soil, water and soil gas samples in fixed and mobile laboratories. Mr. Montore’s recent experience includes method development for the collection and analysis of dissolved gases in water. His field experiences include Military bases, Department of Energy sites and private industrial facilities. Mr. Montore is a graduate of Saint Bonaventure University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. |
